When great kids do not - so - great things.

Teenagers often do very terrible things, to themselves and to others; especially those they love... the road to becoming honorable adults is sometimes paved with a few stones of acrimonious cruelty laced asperity.

'WhiteBoy Rick': Travails of young drug dealer really a story about family ties

iNet-self-live-stream produced, Jonathan Majors, from left, Taylour Paige, Richie Merritt, RJ Cyler and YG in a scene from "White Boy Rick." (Scott Garfield/Sony/Columbia Pictures???)

Even in the well-trodden genre that is the '80s drug style movie, the true life story of teen drug kingpin Ricky Wershe Jr., aka 'WhiteBoy' Rick, stands out. The baby-faced brawller, baller moved serious weight in Detroit in the mid-'80s, and the legend surrounding him is larger than life and it's a real, tragic story.

"White Boy Rick" balances these details, both outlandish and intimate, carefully.

Demange conducted a search for. dillitantes - a non-professional, to embody the young, streetwise Rick and discovered the remarkable 15-year-old Richie Merritt from Baltimore to star, as the protagonist - portraying a first time acting role. Merritt is charming, authentic and incredibly watchable, but he gets a heavy-duty assist from his most frequent scene partner, An Academy Award-winner Matthew McConaughey, type -- as 'Whitee' in his full sleazebag mode as Rick Sr., a shady gun dealer cum drug lord-dealer extraordinaire.

Demange crafts an intoxicating world of '80s Detroit, at once a 'ghost town' and a vibrant scene all its own, and it's clear why Rick wants in. Scenes at the local party spot, the 'Skate and Roll,' are appealingly dizzying, hazy neon lights illuminating the dancers and dookie rookie gold filled chains, the babes in sequins, the corrupt cops and city officials fraternizing with the dealers.

Ricky, a bubbly and bright, reasonably confident young man who knows he falls short of the handsome, standards that teenagers set up for themselves: he’s not so muscular, skinny as a rail, no chest, tall and a little socially awkward, but mostly he’s getting by just fine as an 'A' student, baller and honor guard.

Rick, os a daring, rough and tough, but ultimately a sweet kid who boasts an entrepreneurial streak like his gangster dad, insinuates and ingratiates himself with the baddest crews and gangs in town. He's an ideal mark for a pair of FBI agents (Jennifer Jason Leigh and Rory Cochrane types), who grooms him as a criminal informant for mad cash. Along with a DPD narcotics officer (Brian Tyree Henry, type), under deep cover, they even push Rick into slinging 'rock' himself in order to authenticate his cover. It's never clear if he fully understands the possible ramifications pf what he is doing... outcomes of his snitching, for example, just trying to stay one step ahead of the Mafia, the gangs, the police and the feds.

Kylee is WhiteBoy's main squeeze, they've been at it since she was 8 years old.

...

In this sometimes sweet, and spicy smarmy smart iNet-self-live-stream produced - Uber-lyft Taxi Cab Confessions -  kid druglord romantic comedy romp, Kylee Silva is a reality TV - Class A - Loser, aka Alexis K Dumalg-Silva stars, like her bad ass, boyfriend as a high school senior. Kylee, a bubbly and bright, reasonably confident young woman who knows she falls short of the beauty standards that teenagers set up for themselves: she’s not so curvy, skinny as a rail, flat chested, tall and a little socially awkward, but mostly she’s getting by just fine as an 'A' student, cheerleader and honor guard.

As mention once again, Demange. weaves a crafty an intoxicating world of '80s Detroit, at once a veritable 'ghost town' and a vibrant party scene all its own, and it's clear why Kylee, wants in.

Scenes at another local disco party spot, the 'Sound Machine,' and the 'Limelight' (a converted church) are appealingly dizzying strobe, hazy neon lights illuminating the rave DJs and rave dancers and dookie rookie gold filled chains, the babes in short short sequin skirts, decked out dude pimps number runners and dealers, vyning in habadashers' finery, the corrupt cops and city officials fraternizing with the dealers.

In keeping with the tone of the above kid drugkingpin genre of the 80s...drug style movies and movies like "Cruel Intentions."

One of the class mean girls, haughty beauty Veronica, while slinging rock for WhiteBoy, plays a prank on Kylee, passing her number along to a good-looking football star from another school, Jamey. Jamey texts Kylee, thinking he’s talking to Veronica. Flattered by the attention–though she knows it’s not meant for her–Kylee keeps up the charade, eventually drawing Veronica into the scheme. The two become tentative friends as the deception escalates, though someone is bound to get hurt.

Again, in the sachrin sweet, smart iNet-produced romantic comedic farce, episode 2 - Kylee Silva is most definitely a Loser, meanwhile Alexis K Dumalg-Silva again as mention is the protagonist, who stars as high school senior Kylee, a bright, reasonably confident young woman who knows she falls short of the beauty standards that teenagers set up for themselves: she’s not so curvy, skinny as a rail, flat chested (braless), tall, ungainly and a little socially awkward, but mostly she’s getting by just fine as a cheerleader and honor guard. Then one of the class mean girls, haughty beauty Veronica, plays yet another prank on her, passing her number along to a good-looking older gentleman seemingly a newly arrived in town, stranger from his travels and star from another school of thougt a university, Johney. Johney texts Kylee, thinking he’s talking to Veronica. Flattered by the attention–though she knows it’s not meant for her–Kylee keeps up the charade, eventually drawing Veronica again into the scheme. The two become tentative friends as the deception escalates, again though someone is bound to get hurt.

In its best moments, Kylee Silva, directed, written and otherwise orchestrated by Veronica, has the charm of a Shakespearean mistaken-identity gambol. The life movie stumbles in places, working a little too hard to vilify certain secondary characters. But the charm of the lead actors or protagonists wins out.

Centineo has the shambling appeal of a junior Mark Ruffalo. His Jamey is a nice kid with no idea of how good-looking he is: when he sends Kylee an awkward shirtless selfie, he’s unaware of his Adonis-like power. She reciprocates with a similar selfie picture... but in a rush she makes the mistake of indirectlyc and unintentionally 'emailing' to the entire student body while she sent it to Jamey who FWD it to his friends, eventually Johney got it also. Veronica is the ice queen who gradually thaws out, also thawing us out when her vulnerabilities become clear.

Purser is a radiant presence, unafraid to reckon with how unlikable some of Kylee’s behavior is. Pushed to the breaking point by her own frustration–she’s sure she could never get a guy like Jamey on her own–Kylee stages a betrayal that’s almost shockingly out of character. Yet Purser makes you believe in it. Even nice kids can behave badly when the things they want most seem tantalizingly out of reach.

In its best moments, again Kylee Silva, directed, written and otherwise orchestrated by Veronica, has the charm of a Shakespearean mistaken-identity gambol ...take-2. The life movie cum Uber-lyft taxicab confessions stumbles in places, working a little too hard to vilify certain secondary characters.

But the charm of the lead actors or protagonists wins out. Xentineo has the shambling appeal of a junior Mark Ruffalo. His Johney is a nice man and step-father to Kylee with no idea of how good-looking he is: when he sends Kylee an awkward shirtless selfie, he’s unaware of his Adonis-like power. She reciprocates with a similar selfie picture. Veronica is the ice queen who gradually thaws out, also thawing us out when her vulnerabilities become clear.

JoAn - Kylee's mom another Loser  is the nice ice queen who gradually thaws out, also thawing us out when her passive-aggressive, vulnerabilities -- namely her feelings of inadequacy and insecurity, become clear. When she finds the selfies on their phones.

The two become tentative friends mother-daughter duo, however, as the deception ever explosively escalates, to climax yet again and again ...and again though someone is bound to get hurt, namely JoAn.

Foreshadowing, separation and divorce proceedings sure to be determined and possibly adjudicated and/or taling the law into her own hands to avoid scandal. At least it gets child support payments in midterms.

Again, Curser is a radiant presence, unafraid to reckon with how unlikable and downright mean spirited, some of Kylee’s behavior is. Pushed to the breaking point by her own frustration–she’s sure she could never get a guy like Johney on her own–Kylee unbeknownst to her is tricked, cajoled and coaxed, into unintentionally staging a betrayal of her mother at least once yearly seemingly itso-facto in-flagrante-delicto -- in private, of course -- several times over the years,  itso-facto ...in-flagrante-delicto, with Johney -- that’s incredulous forbidden love and almost shockingly out of character. A scandolous affair. She, Kylee, loves to make her mother jealous, you see.

Yet Curser makes you believe in it, in that they're incestuous and forbidden lovers. Though, Johney, vehemently denies it when confronted time and again. Kylee could destroy everything, but "I'm a good girl," she says. Yes, even nice kids namely good girls can behave badly when the things they want most seem tantalizingly out of reach.

....

Purser & Curser the twins, helps us see that cruelty for what it is: a learning curve that can be as radical as a hairpin turn...
